Tennessee Time

We flew to Tennessee for a much needed family reunion.  As some of you know Grandma Pauline went out to visit Uncle Norm and Aunt Judy last Christmas.  While there she fell and broke her hip, she recovered quite well from the fall, but we all knew that she couldn't live alone anymore.  Norm and Judy really worked hard and found her a wonderful assisted living place in Cookville, TN - a fifteen minute drive from their home in Monterey.  It has not been the easiest transition for Grandma, but she has grown to like her new place and was very proud to show all the grand kids and great grand kids where she now calls home.

So... along with us, Charley's cousins Jayson and Shannon came down from Minnesota with their families, in total there were 12 of us that invaded Norm and Judy's wonderful home, with Grandma also staying there it brought the grand total of 15 people under one roof.  (Well, Jayson, Patty and the boys slept out in the new trailer that Uncle Norm and Aunt Judy bought this year.) But still that is a lot of people!

The great grand kids ranged in age from 16 (Adam) to 2 1/2 (KC).  The kids all got along really well.  Aubrey had a hard time at first, being the only girl, but she and Tanner soon became fast friends.  The  bigger boys all got to go out one day and shoot some guns, some of us got to go to the lake and cool off a bit, and we all ate like kings!  Each meal was a wonderful feast.

It was wonderful to see that side of our family, we don't get to see them  as much as we would like!  We are so grateful that everyone could take the time to do this.  Can't wait to do it again!!!

On the last day, we left for the airport a bit early, Uncle Norm and Aunt Judy took us out to eat at a great restaurant and then to see the Grand Ole Opry house...  we just walked around out side, we didn't have time to go inside.
If you can't quit see, YES... KC James is throwing a fit!

Aubrey was right at home, I think she will be on that stage one day!!!  The best line of the whole trip was when we were walking back to the car and she asked is it really called the "Grand Ole Aubrey"???!!!   We still get the giggles about that one.  We took a quick tour of the Honky-Tonk Highway, but KC was being a pill so we decided not to get out of the car... we just headed to the airport and got ready for the long ride home.

Thanks to everyone that made that trip happen, what wonderful memories were made.
